Location and History
Clinton is located in northern Davis County with a total area of 5.8 square miles. 1 The area was settled in the 1870s by James Hill and his family, with dry farming beginning in 1879 and a railroad station established by 1881. 1 Clinton became an incorporated town in 1936 and experienced relatively small growth until the 1960s, then grew rapidly during the 1990s and continues to grow. 1
