Magna has a total area of 7.4 square miles and lies just northeast of the Oquirrh Mountains and directly south of the Great Salt Lake. 1 The city sits on the Salt Lake Valley grid system between 7200 and 9200 West and 2100 and 4100 South, with SR-201 running along the northern border and intersecting with I-80 to the west. 1
