Midvale covers 5.8 square miles in the central part of Salt Lake Valley, with the Jordan River forming its western border 1. Interstate 15 runs down the center of the city, and Interstate 215 serves as the northern boundary of the east side 1. The city operates under a grid system, with 7800 South running east/west across the center and 700 West/Main Street running through its historic downtown 1. Midvale is one of the few cities in Utah to be home to two direct TRAX light rail lines and three TRAX stations 1.
