Location and History

Saratoga Springs sits at 4,547 feet elevation and is part of the Provo–Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area. 1 The area was named after a resort opened by John Beck in 1884, inspired by natural hot springs near the source of the Jordan River. 1 The city incorporated in December 1997 after landowners sought more urban development ordinances, and Saratoga Springs became a city in 2001. 1
